This list of stoners are all musicians of high places. They’ve topped the charts in genres from pop to reggae to hip-hop. Besides all being widely successful, these artists haven’t been shy about their love affairs with Mary Jane. They’ve openly thanked cannabis for its mind opening qualities, have dedicated whole songs to its magical effects and have even labeled pot as their muse.

Bob Marley 

As a Rastafarian, Bob Marley smoked marijuana as a holy sacrament. To him and other practitioners, getting high was not be done recreationally, and was instead reserved for medicinal and religious purposes. However, most photos of the famous reggae artist feature him with a joint press between his lips. Marley strongly believed that pot opened a spiritual door where he could tap into his music and poetry,

Snoop Dogg

Snoop Dogg makes almost every famous stoner list, musician centered or not, and for good reason. You won’t be able to find one music video where he doesn’t take from a blunt or pay homage to marijuana in some way. Of all the female stoners in the modern music industry, Miley Cyrus is the most prominent. Hip-hop hitmaker Mike Will said in an interview that Cyrus smokes more weed than most rappers he knows. Surprisingly though, Cyrus has recently packed her pot away and spoke openly about her new sobriety on the Jimmy Fallon Show.


Jimi Hendrix

No stoner soundtrack dares not include the music of the great Jimi Hendrix. The legendary guitarist has a strain named after him, which seems fitting considering he lived a rockstar lifestyle and smoked a lot of weed.
